Jekyll Island Club Hotel : 04.21.07 Shelly & Mitch's wedding
Tuesday, May 1, 2007, 08:02 PM - I do, Engagement, Jekyll Island Club Hotel
I took a stroll to the Georgia Coast for a visit to an island that played an important role in my artistic development. In my Junior and Senior :Graduate years, I was working towards the fulfillment of my BFA in theatrical production. I was the Technical Director for the entire company of 60 members. My Job: Oversee all technical elements of design realization. I thank this career path choice and all my professors that allowed me to challenge myself artistically to come up with sets that people dream about. I'm so excited that Shelly & Mitch asked me to photograph their wedding at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel. A location where many dreams have come true!
My discovery of the Jekyll Island in 1996 taught me to LOVE the Live Oak trees. The WPJA credited me with a top 10 award with :Scene Setters: for the Winter 2006 contest. Check out that shot:Live Oak Scene Setter
It was an honor to hang out with you guys and shoot your engagement session on Friday afternoon!!!! First time I've ever shot an engagement session & a rehearsal dinner in the same day!

Just a few days after the Virginia Tech shooting, Shelly, a graduate of VT, walks with her husband as the Jekyll Island Club's flags fly at half staff.
thank you Natalie Marty for your photographic Assistance. Nice choice of wide angle lens for her initial entrance... Excellent shot!
This is a 2 second exposure from the Canon 5d with a 16MM lens shot wide open at 2.8. There was no post production editing to achieve this look. Twilight over the coastal plains is the most amazing place ever!
